Blog – Jogging on the spot

Ever felt like your working really hard, but not really moving forward? Your out of breath, but the breakthrough isn’t happening? Kind of like your jogging on the spot, rather than running the race?

I have to say I’ve felt this way for the large majority of my time in the work of ministry. But I’ve learned some lessons:

Firstly, People who Jog on the spot are healthier than people who are sat on the couch. You are preparing for the go! And when it comes, you will be ready for it. I can honestly say at this time I feel like I’m running – but i could not have done this without preparation. Maybe the jogging is good for you!

Secondly, Even if you only inch forward with small breakthroughs, you are going to lap the people sat on the couch. Celebrate the small things.

Thirdly, Don’t give up – Galatians 6 tells us ‘Let us not become weary in doing good,¬†for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.’

Fourthly, your perspective is not whole – God sees so much that you and I do not. trust him, you may be making more progress than you think!
